Johan is our source for all information regarding animals, he made a fantastic guide for our visit to Berlin Zoo. We spent most of the day marveling at animals we had never seen before.
Near the end of our visit we came across a kea, as in just one kea enclosed in an environment that resembled the Australian Outback. It looked old, sad and lonely. For us it triggered an interesting discussion about the ethics of keeping animals in captivity. Balancing our own enjoyment with the ethical treatment of animals.
