Kaliningrad, a Russian territory far to the west of Russia, borders Lithuania and the Baltic. We were keen to have a look, but lack of visas proved an insurmountable barrier.
Speaking to some Lithuanians who lived in town separated from Kaliningrad by a river, they described that they had never set foot in there. They did not consider the cost and hassle of obtaining a visa worth their while.
